A new Rescue 1 for PFD

Peacham Fire Department recently put its new Rescue 1 into service. Medical and rescue equipment is located in Rescue 1. See the photos below of Rescue 1 in the 4th of July Parade in Peacham. More Photos.

In Peacham when you call for an ambulance, the fire department will be the first to respond to your door -- and they will be bringing Rescue 1. Transportation of patients is provided by Danville Rescue Inc., our neighboring volunteer ambulance service. They can respond with two ambulances, one for primary patient transportation and a second which is equipped for vehicle extrication, light rescue and secondary patient transportation.

Photos of old Rescue 1

Old Peacham Rescue 1 was a 1989 Ford E350 extended length van that was modified by department members in 2001 for rescue and emergency medical first response. Medical and rescue equipment is located in Rescue 1. Special equipment to refill the air bottles used by firefighters in burning buildings an at the scene of hazardous material incidents is also carried in the van. Due to the age and condition of this vehicle, the department replaced the unit in mid-2008 with a unit that was purchased from the Chatham Fire and Rescue Department.
